Greetings from South of the Equator?? Man it is hot – but you know I love the heat! And the best way to enjoy the heat is to cool off in our air conditioned shop doing what we all love to do – CRAFT! As you may know tomorrow, June 10 is the international Etsy Craft Party and we’re playing hostess for you. I hope you can join us at some point tomorrow… as you can see below we have activities throughout the day and evening and the Bruins will be on our screen for the 8pm face-off. So come one, come all! I attached a formal flier with the times and lists of activities but here is a quick run down:

Next week marks the World Wide Knitting in Public Day http://www.wwkipday.com/ with a week’s worth of activities. As you can imagine I’ve been busy (Dot Day, Prom planning, kids…. Etsy Craft party, yarn dyeing.. shall I continue?) so I did not have a chance to confirm our activities to celebrate knitting/crochet in public so I will impose with a sooner than usual email Monday to get you those details. I hope that’s okay. In the meantime if you’d like to play hostess at your worksite, or somewhere in a public place I’d love to get you listed on our week of activities and get you a Stitch House WWKIP Host Kit. I just need to know what day next week, what time and location you would like to invite other knitters and crocheters to do what we love to do… in public!
Last week I mentioned the Rooftop Challenge and a few of you have already responded that you are on board… I got started last night while on the couch watching the Bruins with my beaded shawl in Rooftop Pure Charm (Lace in color Big Bird). It is only a few inches in, but it is awesome! So here’s the deal on the Rooftop challenge: This is your chance to show off your knitting skills with our Hand Dyed yarn. The winner of this contest will be rewarded with the opportunity to custom dye a yarn in the color of your choice with Claire and Annissa in the Rooftop Studio. Rooftop Yarns offers a variety of yarns: lace, sock, dk, worsted, and a variety of fun bulky yarns. The project is up to you! Submit your work by July 31 for display and voting. Winner will be announced August 19th.
In other news… the summer is here but we still have so many classes happening. This is a great time of year to learn a new craft so you’re ready for the holidays… join us! Some stuff up and coming includes these below but you should also check out our full listing attached.
