Last week’s post – sorry! But I like them to be “Posted” in order!
Good Afternoon last Friday in July! Can you believe we are here already!? I was chatting with a few teacher friends how it is almost over… I know I shouldn’t remind you! But it is… The good news is we’re heading right back into the Knitting Season! If you’re ready to get started, come this Sunday (July 29 from 1-3pm) to knit with Claire. She’s making the Gradient Shawl from Shibui. This is a wonderful workshop, free instruction with yarn purchase, that will teach you some great skills (you should already know how to knit and purl) including provisional cast-on, three needle bind off, and grafting. We have some color combinations pre-selected or come in and create your own. I attached the class flyer and here’s a link to the pattern for the Gradient Cowl. Call to sign up! 617-265-8013.
Tonight you can get a jump start on this project or work on something else with us as we watch the Opening Ceremonies of the Olympics. We are excited to get the TV set up, spread out and enjoy some entertainment, good company and wine if you’d like! If you need to get motivated, check out this awesome video for knitters Olympknits.
Oh – and August means CASCADE is on sale! The entire month of August, get 40% off all Cascade yarns in stock. You do have the whole month, but when the yarn is gone, it’s gone. We aren’t discontinuing any yarns, just clearing the shelves for new stuff due in September. As we’re clearing some space for new stuff check out what’s new to our Clearance area… and for every purchase this weekend you are welcome to select one book, for free, from our clearance table.
We also have the much anticipated Shawl Contest happening in September. Buy your yarn from our current collection (yes to Cascade, no to clearance yarns), bring it in for September for voting, and win a prize regardless and an even better prize for winning!
Today we had a great showing for our Bang In Friday A-Line Skirt project. Bang-In Friday projects are announced Thursdays on Facebook – so “like”us and stay connected! Plus that’s where you’ll get a daily scoop on what’s happening here, connect with industry happenings, and get updates on some crafting hints.
