Birthday Party, Mens Knit, Special Quilt Block Workshop

Some weeks I think we might have little to share in the email but not this week – we continue to have a lot of great things happening! This Friday evening is our October/November Birthday Celebrations… please join us from 6-8pm around the table. Bring your knitting, crochet, or other handwork and your sweet tooth. Please RSVP so we have enough gifts for all!

Saturday is our every-now-and-then Men’s Knit Night with Bill. Join him and other crafty men from 6-8pm. We would also like you so RSVP so we have enough goodies for you.

We still have space in the two Intro to Double Knitting with Alasdair Post-Quinn workshops for Sunday, November 16. Call 617-265-8013 to reserve your space. The morning only has a couple of spots left!

The following weekend, Sunday, November 23 from 3-6pm, we are running a Special Quilt Block Workshop. We welcome special guest instructor Debbie Kalenty of Studio 180. She’ll work with our limited size group on making multiple quick and accurate quilt block squares. In this workshop you’ll make half-square and quarter square triangles with Debbie, a Studio 180 Design Certified Instructor, for $70. All materials, including the Tucker Trimmer, Wing Clipper and Magic Wand Quilting tools will go home with you! You’ll have confidence in new quilt block making techniques and squares ready to be made into something spectacular!

I’m also putting together a few special activities for December. I need your help in organizing Sunday “Give Back” Afternoons. Online I call it #feelextragoodknitting – a time when we come together to knit, crochet or sew for a good cause. The holidays are busy, and we often get caught up in the bustle of big box stores and credit card bills. Let’s take a few Sunday afternoons to drop the stress and craft for others. We start this with Nana’s Dolls and Sweaters on Sunday, December 7 from 4-6pm. A Stitch House customer had a ton of crochet doll pieces and all-but-buttons baby sweaters from her Nana. Bring darning needles and 1″ buttons from your stash, we’ll get these finished and sent off to the Italian Home for Children.

The next three Sundays are up for suggestion. Think quick and easy projects. Email me your suggestions and we’ll keep you posted on the other Sunday “Give Back” Afternoons #feelextragoodknitting. You can also post your suggestions to our Facebook Page.

And, as usual – we’re here Friday nights for Social Knitting 6-8pm.
