Give Thanks, PotLuck, Small Biz Saturday – Open for it all!

Thanksgiving is my favorite holiday. I do love Christmas with the kids and all those festivities… but Thanksgiving is my favorite! I spend the morning preparing, cooking and chatting. My family comes over, we enjoy a great meal and then we share what we’re thankful for! After it all, we watch some football and scan the sales circulars for all the good sales the next day. It isn’t a fancy celebration, but it is a good chunk of time that we simply are together and relaxed. However you celebrate the day, I hope you have a nice one.

After all the Turkey is done, consider spending Friday evening with our annual Pot Luck at Friday Night Knitting. Bring in some leftovers to share. It has become a nice Stitch House tradition… and another tradition is Small Business Saturday. You can go shopping in the big box stores Friday and get a few good deals, but Saturday, it is back to supporting your local businesses. I hope you will make it in. We will have a few specials Friday and Saturday. Come on in!

We will be closing at 6pm Wednesday and closed for Thanksgiving Day. We are open Friday 10-8pm. We will close early on Christmas and New Year’s Eve at 3pm and be closed on Christmas Day and New Year’s Day.

Colorwork Mittens with Lisa McFetridge!

Sunday, December 7 & 14

Lisa McFetridge returns, this time to make MITTENS! Join her in making her design Whimsical Odds & Ends Mittens using up your stash and working on your colorwork skills. Participants should know how to knit and purl in the round. Skills developed in this workshop include changing colors, colorwork and create thumb gusset. Using a heavy worsted weight yarns on very small needles, the result is a very warm, durable fabric that doesn’t need any lining to keep out the cold and wind on the coldest day. The other upside to such a dense fabric is very little wear & tear and very little pilling.
This workshop meets 2 Sundays, Dec. 7 & 14 from 4-6pm. $80 includes 10 mini-skeins of worsted weight yarn. Additional materials to purchase include main wool and needles. Call to pre-register and receive materials list.
