Welcome Spring? Almost… it is just a few days away and I hear next week it might warm up! If you’re like me, the Spring can’t come soon enough. The “shop” can’t wait either. As you can imagine business was weird the last few months. The snow, the T and the parking issues created an interesting dynamic for us and we are happy to be past it. Our sales were low because of the weather factor and I want to clear out and move past this Winter now. Please help… Starting tomorrow, Thursday, March 19 through Sunday, March 22 we are having an awesome “Welcome Spring” Clearance Sale. This will include Cascade, Bliss, some Indie yarns, books, patterns and MORE all ON SALE. We’ll post the full, exact list on Facebook tomorrow. In time for the annual South Boston St. Patrick’s Day Breakfast, I finished my Entangled Leaves sweater. It was fun to make… top down, one piece in Tosh Vintage color Jade. Check out my Ravelry project page for more details or to make your own!

If you really want to treat yourself (you do deserve it!) to a fun and relaxing knitting vacation, join Shelley Leahy and Sarah Wolf (teacher at Stitch House) on the 2015 Sheep Ahoy Knitters Cruise as we sail from Boston to Bermuda, July 17-26th. Kids Crochet in March!Have a kid ages 8-12? Tuesday afternoons we welcome them to learn to crochet from 4-5:30pm. $75 includes materials for 3 week session.

is a 2 hour workshop to familiarize yourself with either your personal sewing machine, or ours. We’ll introduce you to the machine, including turning it on, threading it, learning the basic stitches and functions, and caring for it. You will leave this session feeling good about your beginner skills, a handy packet of information to use at home and a starter project for your first sewing class with us. Even if you aren’t taking a sewing class with us, this is a great opportunity to learn a few basics. If you are bringing your own sewing machine- bring all the pieces and the manual (if you can find it!). If you don’t own a machine, come get to know our machines. This workshop also includes taking your measurements, picking appropriate patterns and how to select fabrics and notions. $30 for one session, offered Wednesday, April 1st 6-8pm OR Saturday, April 11th 10-12noon.sewing pic
Sew 102-
(Prerequisites: Get to Know your Sewing Machine and Sew 101) this is the “next” class in our series of sewing classes that helps you through your first independently selected sewing pattern. Over the course of eight hours you will learn how to understand and follow pattern instructions, cut out patterns and make minor pattern alterations for a better fit. We ask students to select and bring their own pattern, fabric, thread (call or email for more info.) Two Saturdays March 21 & 28, 10-2pm. $100 not including materials.
Needle Felting Sheep with Kelly from Romney Ridge Farm

Join Kelly on Saturday afternoon for an adventure in needle felting! Kit ($25), which includes supplies to felt 2 sheep, is included in class price. Saturday, April 11, 2-4pm. $40 including materials.

Jennifer will introduce you to the wonders of using the GoodReader app as a knitting tool. You will learn how to download patterns, keep notes, and highlight important instructions among other useful tips. Please download the app before class. Sunday, March 22, 10a-12noon. $20.

Join Claudia beginning Saturday March 7 for 10 weeks of tips, guidance and assistance with making a sweater custom fit for you! Intro to Knitting Classes! Knit 102Join Kathleen for Knit 102 this Winter on Thursdays from 6-8pm. Each week Kathleen will help you with your independent projects and do a mini-lesson on a variety of skills. $75 for 4 week series. Call for more details and to hold your seat!We also offer Knit 101:

A special Crochet Workshop with Amy Lou on the fifth Sunday! She’ll be instructing you on how to make Simon the Sheep! Crocheters should know how to chain and single crochet. March 29, 3-6pm.
$30 plus materials.
Cullah Collah Cowl Workshop with Lisa McFetridge

Lisa returns to teach at Stitch House! This time she’s making her Cullah Collah Cowl, inspired by Snowpocalypse 2015. Knit in heavy worsted weight on smaller than normal needles for extra warmth, any worsted or even DK weight yarn can be used but please don’t mix weights or it will look wonky when done. Spend 2 Sunday afternoons developing your color work skills while making a customized cowl using 2 or 3 of the 15 motifs Lisa has designed for this cowl!
2 Sunday afternoons, April 12 & 19 from 4-6pm Class is $40 plus $10 materials fee or bring your own scraps of worsted or DK weight yarn. Please call to register.
