Now THIS is SPRING! Welcome back – we have missed you. I do hope you are enjoying this lovely weather. I am, and it arrived just in time to wrap up hockey and kick off baseball season!With Spring comes bright colors, better attitudes and new friendships. Last Saturday we had Kelly from Romney Ridge for a Needle Felting workshop! It was so obvious how much fun everyone had – we’re hoping to get Kelly back for a felt-your-own dog or cat workshop. Details will be coming soon.
We also have a number of great upcoming workshops and special events. I hope you find some time to spend with us – save the dates and call us to get your seat reserved!
Maire Treanor will be with us from Ireland, the entire weekend of May 2 & 3. She’ll be teaching us the stunning and detailed method for creating Clones/Irish Lace. This intensive workshop is appropriate for both beginner and advanced crocheters – all you need is the chain stitch to create beautiful motifs, masks, collars, and shawls.
On Sunday, May 3, Moo (our wonderful sewing instructor) will be introducing the new sewing machines that we’ll be selling! We will have 4 shop model machines that will be available for you to order. Each machine will have a variety of bells and whistles for you. They come to us via Ann’s Sewing Machine in Canton. We’ll have them out for you to test drive during this Sewing Open House. Please RSVP for special attention at 10am, 11am or 12noon.
StevenBe will be hosting an evening on Friday, May 8 at Friday Night knitting. He’ll bring his trunk show and present a talk about color (he knows color!) and creating fantastic knit pieces.

|Get to Know Your SEWING MACHINE
is a 2 hour workshop to familiarize yourself with either your personal sewing machine, or ours. We’ll introduce you to the machine, including turning it on, threading it, learning the basic stitches and functions, and caring for it. You will leave this session feeling good about your beginner skills, a handy packet of information to use at home and a starter project for your first sewing class with us. Even if you aren’t taking a sewing class with us, this is a great opportunity to learn a few basics. If you are bringing your own sewing machine- bring all the pieces and the manual (if you can find it!). If you don’t own a machine, come get to know our machines. This workshop also includes taking your measurements, picking appropriate patterns and how to select fabrics and notions. $30 for one session, offered Saturday, April 25th 10-12noon

Spend a Sunday afternoon developing your beading skills while making a beautiful gift for yourself or your mom! You’ll learn to quickly string beads onto yarn using a dental floss threader, follow pattern instructions, and create a beautiful necklace or bracelet just in time for Mother’s day!
Choose from Leah Twist Necklace by Shaina Bilow or Ribband by Laura Nelkin. Sunday afternoon, April 26 from 3-6pm Class is $40 (includes both patterns) plus $15 materials fee or bring your own scraps of fingering or sock weight yarn and size 6 beads.

|Knit 102 Returns on Fridays!
Do you know how to knit but could use some guidance and want to learn more? Would you like to knit with others and need some extra help along the way? Intermediate Knit offers support and hand-holding for those who can knit comfortably but would like to improve their skills and advance their abilities.
We’re offering another session of Knit 102 on Fridays from 9-11 am with Shelley! The spring session will run from April 10-June 5, and cost $100 for all 9 weeks of instruction! This popular class is limited to 8 students, and there are just a few spots left! Knit 102 is also offered on Thursday evenings from 6-8pm with Kathleen, $75 for 4 weeks or $20/session.
