I’m in the throes of the final count-down to election day! I do have so much to share, new yarns, new needles, and even a new knitting project (for me!). Come on in to check it all out. SATURDAY would be a good day – you can come for Cassidy’s Embroidery Workshop or learn to make Thrummed Mittens (you’ll only ever want these to keep or gift) with Sara.

We did have a family birthday last week. Douglas turned 11… can you imagine. I hope to talk soon & see you around the knitting table!

Thrums, Blocking & GoodReader Workshops are back!

Join us in October for some of our favorite workshops! Just as the weather is cooling off, our class schedule is heating up! These workshops are great for knitters at all levels.

Thrummed Mittens– Knit a layer of cozy fleece inside your mittens to keep your fingers toasty this winter. Prerequisites: Knitting in the round, cast on/bind off, increase/decrease, knit/purl. Saturday October 17, 3-6pm. $30 includes instruction, fleece, and pattern. Worsted weight wool and needles are available for purchase.

Blocking Workshop with Valaree-
Blocking won’t fix your mistakes, but it will help shape your knit garment to the right size & allow the fibers to “bloom.” Valaree will demonstrate the process and introduce you to the tools and techniques to make your knitting look its best. Call to register – there will be a bit of homework. Sunday October 18, 10am-12pm. $30

GoodReader for iPad with Jennifer-

Jennifer will introduce you to the wonders of using the App GoodReader as a knitting tool. You will learn how to download patterns, keep notes, highlight important instructions & more! Download the app before class. Sunday, October 25, 10am-12noon. $30.

We’re selling sewing machines!

Come check out the new sewing machines that we’re selling! We have 3 shop model machines that will be available for you to order at great price points: $199, $299, $499. They come to us via Ann’s Fabrics and Sewing Machine Center in Canton. Each machine has a variety of bells and whistles for you. We have them out for you to test drive – stop by to check them out!

Knit 101 & Crochet 101/102

Join us for a 4-week introduction to knitting or crochet! You will learn how to cast on, basic stitches, and how to bind off, and be ready to undertake projects on your own. Pick a session that works for you and call us to sign up for the next available class. Classes are $75 for 4 weeks of 2 hr/week classes with our fabulous instructors.

Knit 101 sessions:

Sundays 2-4pm (starts Nov 3)

Sundays 4-6pm

Tuesdays 6-8pm

Wednesdays 6-8pm

Saturdays 9-11am

Saturdays 11:30am-1:30pm
All knitting classes include Monday lunchtime open knitting each week from 12noon-2pm.

Join Cassidy Saturday, October 24 from 10am-12noon for a special Embroidery Workshop! This workshop costs $50 and includes a Sublime La Petit Kit.

Fall Sew 101 Sessions


This introductory six-hour session will give you experience in the basics of sewing so you will have the knowledge and confidence to undertake projects on your own or in our Sew 102 classes. You will learn to understand, follow and cut out widely-available sewing patterns. All participants will work on the same pattern. Pattern and fabric are available for purchase at Stitch House. Saturday, November 21 10am-4pm. $100 plus materials

Develop your Knitting Skills this fall!

Knit 102 with Shelley –
This popular workshop is starting back up on Oct 2! Join Shelley on Friday mornings from 9-11am. $20/session, $75/4-weeks or $100 through Dec 18. That’s 12 classes!

Custom Sweater with Claudia –
Claudia will work with you to create your dream sweater using Amy Herzog’s Custom Fit pattern series. Ongoing enrollment starts October 3rd. $100 includes custom pattern, measurements and loads of hand holding. Saturdays, 4-6pm for 10 sessions.

Get to Know your SEWING MACHINE

is a 2 hour workshop to familiarize yourself with either your personal sewing machine, or ours. We’ll introduce you to the machine, including turning it on, threading it, learning the basic stitches and functions, and caring for it. You will leave this session feeling good about your beginner skills, a handy packet of information to use at home and a starter project for your first sewing class with us. Even if you aren’t taking a sewing class with us, this is a great opportunity to learn a few basics. If you are bringing your own sewing machine- bring all the pieces and the manual (if you can find it!). If you don’t own a machine, come get to know our machines. This workshop also includes taking your measurements, picking appropriate patterns and how to select fabrics and notions. $30 for one session. Wednesday, Oct. 21, 6-8pm
Saturday, Nov. 7, 10am-12noon
