Today is election day- well tomorrow, because Im writing this the night before 🙂 If you are a Boston voter, I hope you will consider casting a vote for me. You will find my name #3 on the ballot.

I am so proud of the work we’ve done to get here. I am so happy to have all the support of my friends near and far. So many of you have sent emails, stopped by and wished me well in this run for Boston City Council. Today, JP Knit and Stitch’s Genevieve sent the nicest email to her customers (many of whom we share) asking them to cast a vote for me today. Us crafters/knitters/makers are an incredible bunch. We are a great extended family and I am so excited to know you and share so much with you.

This has been an exciting year campaigning for one of 4 At-Large seats on the Boston City Council. Many of you know how much value I would bring to the Council. My experience in the classroom (13 years at East Boston High School) and raising my family here, in the city, with Doug. We are so proud to call Boston home by choice (even though we are born and raised here too!). I have learned so much this past year. I know my voice is missing from the Council, and we need our government to include the perspective of a teacher, business owner, civic leader and parent. The residents of Boston have been my partner during this campaign and we have covered so many issues important to all of us including education, housing, economic development, job stabilization, public health, public safety and more. I am grateful for this experience and can’t wait to get to the real work of government.

I have wonderful friends (YOU) who are supporting me this year and in 2013. Some of you have become my best friends. I am grateful for all you have done for me and this effort. Most important, your friendship and love.

Thank you. I want to win this for you.
