Yes. There is snow coming and based on the news reports, I have no idea how much we’re getting. It could be a dusting, or a foot. Welcome Winter (check out our Quick Knit & Movie for cowl selection). Anyway, get yourself in to the Stitch House just in case you get snowed in – and need a project!
You could make what I’ve been knitting. I have WingSpan on my needles using Noro Silk Garden Sock. It is stunning! One of my closest friends just had a baby girl so I want to know what you’ve got going that I could make as a gift for them. Maybe you could meet me at City Hall Friday? We have an active lunch time knitting group at 12noon on the Mezzanine.
We have some new fun happening this new year. I love celebrating your birthdays with you so we’re making that party a part of our monthly plans. Join us the 1st Friday of each month for cake (next one Feb 4th) but at anytime during your birthday month you can enjoy a one-time 20% discount on your purchase.
We’re also adding some special events you’ll find described in this email in addition to our “Quick Knit & Movie”. Valaree is starting a Knit 102 Sunday mornings 10am-12noon kicking off February 7 and Bill is sharing his skills with you Saturdays 2-4pm. As always, please call to sign up and check out our class listing below.
Perhaps we will se you this Friday for social knitting 6-8pm?

Quick Knit & Movie
We’re starting something new and fun for the new year! The last Saturday of every month the Stitch House staff is taking turns hosting a movie night and knit. The idea is a little comedy film and a knit that can handle the distraction of laughter! Annissa is hosting our first session Saturday, January 30 6-9pm, so she gets to pick the movie,
Bad Teacher, and the project… Let’s do the fun necklace Petarli using 50 yards fingering, sock or light DK with coordinating needles. $10 per person. Materials not included.
I had some feedback on this that a few folks would like an “alternative” project… I suggest free pattern Winter’s End Cowl (hopeful thinking!). I made mine in one skein of Mad Tosh ASAP. You could too!
Winter Sew 101 Sessions
This introductory six-hour session will give you experience in the basics of sewing so you will have the knowledge and confidence to undertake projects on your own or in our Sew 102 classes. You will learn to understand, follow and cut out widely-available sewing patterns. All participants will work on the same pattern. Pattern and fabric are available for purchase at Stitch House.
Saturday, January 23 10am-4pm.

Holiday Sewing Machine Special – for Kids! $249 includes New Year Lesson
I learned to sew when I was 6… and I haven’t stopped since. This is one piece of technology you should encourage your kids to use! We’re running a special this season for kids. Purchase our Anna Sewing machine (basic, great model) for $199 and have access to an exclusive Get To Know Your Sewing Machine for Kids for $50 offered January 30th 10am-12noon so they can get comfortable with their new “toy”.
We have 1 new machine in shop, ready to go home with you! For adults looking for that great, first machine – or new one after a while away from sewing, we recommend the Molly at $299. It is just fancy enough to not be the kids’ machine, but not so complicated that you’ll be intimidated. For purchases made of this machine or the Rachel ($499) you’ll get a private 1-hour lesson scheduled at your convenience with our sewing instructor.
Do you see these? The boys’ school is collecting them to raise funds for programing. Could you share your’s with me? If you could collect and bring in as you come visit us, that would be helpful! Thank you.
