Happy Saint Patrick’s Day and Evacuation Day to all of you! As I prepare for the weekend’s parade (my first as an elected) I can’t help but think I want to knit one more garment to wear for all the festivities! Anyone one else anxiously searching for the perfect shade of green? I have no idea what I’ll be wearing for the big breakfast Sunday morning… I’ll share a picture next week. In the meantime, here’s a throwback of Kayden from a few years ago in one of my holiday favorites!


This weekend we have a special Trunk Show coming to the shop. Join Angela as she introduces you to her yarns, her patterns and her love of fibers! While she’s here she’ll being running a KAL to make River Deep, Mountain High Cowl. This KAL is free with a purchase of her yarn. Please sign up for your session of choice! Saturday, March 19 2-8pm. Free with purchase of either Molly Rock Star ($24) or Harmony ($26). Sign up for the 2-4pm group or 6-8pm group.

We also have a few other plans on the horizon to save the dates for. First our Spring Clearance Sale April 1-2-3-4. Big deals planned. April 9, Toil and Trouble is in for Granny Squares and Socks.

Custom Sweater with Claudia
Claudia will work with you to create your dream sweater using Amy Herzog’s Custom Fit pattern series. Ongoing enrollment-join when you’re ready to start your sweater! $100 includes custom pattern, measurements and loads of hand holding.

Bill’s Skills
Join Bill Saturday afternoons to sharpen your skills and work towards a a sampler afghan. Using Rowan Pure Wool worsted weight (or substitute) every session you’ll focus on a new skill: lace, cables, texture and more! This is great for those who are newer knitters but super comfy with knits, purls and casting on and off.
8 Sessions $100 or $20 per session, plus materials.
Saturday April 2, 9, & 16 2-4pm.

Knit 101/102 &
Crochet 101/102
Join us for a 4-week introduction to knitting or crochet! You will learn how to cast on, basic stitches, and how to bind off, and be ready to undertake projects on your own. Pick a session that works for you and call us to sign up for the next available class. Classes are $75 for 4 weeks of 2 hr/week classes with our fabulous instructors.

Knit 101 sessions:
Sundays 4-6pm
Wednesdays 6-8pm

Toil & Trouble

We are very lucky to have Ana Campos from Toil & Trouble, a small yarn and knitwear company, come to us!

Join us for a Toil & Trouble trunk show on April 9th and 10th. Come in and see the beautiful yarns she’ll have for sale.

Ana will also host two classes with us! Classes with Ana will be held on Saturday, April 9th.

Crochet Granny Squares (2 hours)
Learn how to make traditional granny squares with a contemporary aesthetic! In this class, we will cover how to crochet three-color granny squares and how to join them. You can make a blanket of any size, or get creative and make pillow covers, bags, even jackets!
Pre-requisites: Basic crochet skills.
Supplies: 3 colors of worsted weight yarn, Size H hook. Sat 1-3pm $30

Toe-Up Sock Basics (3 hours)
Let go of your sock knitting fears and conquer toe-up socks! In this class, we will knit a mini sock where you learn how to do a magic cast on, shape toe increases, and turn a short row heel. You will leave class with the knowledge to then knit your own pair of full-sized socks, as well as a basic sock pattern.
Pre-requisites: Basic knitting skills, knitting in the round
Supplies: 1 ball of sport weight yarn, US4 double-pointed needles or US4 32″ circular needles for magic loop. Optional: 1 ball of fingering weight sock yarn and US1 needles to start your full-sized socks if time permits.
Sat 10am-12noon $50

Winter Sew 101 Sessions


This introductory six-hour session will give you experience in the basics of sewing so you will have the knowledge and confidence to undertake projects on your own or in our Sew 102 classes. You will learn to understand, follow and cut out widely-available sewing patterns. All participants will work on the same pattern. Pattern and fabric are available for purchase at Stitch House.

The Saturday night movie series continues… this month join Shelley to watch comedian Brian Regan; I Walked On The Moon and knit the ver cute, and perfect go-to gift, the Berry Baby Hat.Saturday, March 27 6-9pm. $10plus materials. Pattern free. Please RSVP so we bring enough munchies.
Box Tops!


Do you see these? The boys’ school is collecting them to raise funds for programing. Could you share your’s with me? If you could collect and bring in as you come visit us, that would be helpful! Thank you.

Get to Know your
is a 2 hour workshop to familiarize yourself with either your personal sewing machine, or ours. We’ll introduce you to the machine, including turning it on, threading it, learning the basic stitches and functions, and caring for it. You will leave this session feeling good about your beginner skills, a handy packet of information to use at home and a starter project for your first sewing class with us. Even if you aren’t taking a sewing class with us, this is a great opportunity to learn a few basics. If you are bringing your own sewing machine- bring all the pieces and the manual (if you can find it!). If you don’t own a machine, come get to know our machines. This workshop also includes taking your measurements, picking appropriate patterns and how to select fabrics and notions. $30 for one session.
