We have a big weekend in store for you. Literally, IN STORE, for you! On Saturday, Ana from Toil and Trouble is in “the House” for Toe-Up Sock Basics from 10am-1pm and then from 2-4pm she’ll be teaching you (and me!) how to crochet Granny Squares. It really will be fun!

Also on Saturday, We have GTK Your Sewing Machine from 10-noon and Bill is running his almost every week, Skills Class from 2-4 pm.Yes – there is so much!

Then Sunday we’re back at it. We have a new workshop for you to sew your own knitting bag! Join Anne for an afternoon 1-3pm (Sold out) and 3:30-5:30pm to make this great bag for $40 and prepare to start making them for yourself or others by the dozen!


In the meantime – we will see you this Friday Night for social knitting 6-8pm? If you are coming by, make sure to check our newly refreshed (added to) Clearance Section.

Oh! We’re also trying to put a class together for knitting for kids during school vacation week.. maybe a few mornings. More details coming soon. Please check out our Facebook page for details.

Custom Sweater with Claudia
Claudia will work with you to create your dream sweater using Amy Herzog’s Custom Fit pattern series. Ongoing enrollment-join when you’re ready to start your sweater! $100 includes custom pattern, measurements and loads of hand holding.
Saturdays, 4-6pm for 10 sessions. $100.

Bill’s Skills
Join Bill on Saturday afternoons to sharpen your skills and work towards a sampler afghan. Using Rowan Pure Wool worsted weight (or substitute) every session you’ll focus on a new skill: lace, cables, texture and more! This is great for those who are newer knitters but super comfy with knit, purl, and casting on and off.
8 Sessions $100 or $20 per session, plus materials.
Saturday April 2, 9, & 16 2-4pm.

Knit 101/102 &
Crochet 101/102
Join us for a 4-week introduction to knitting or crochet! You will learn how to cast on, basic stitches, and how to bind off, and be ready to undertake projects on your own. Pick a session that works for you and call us to sign up for the next available class. Classes are $75 for 4 weeks of 2 hr/week classes with our fabulous instructors.

Knit 101 sessions:
Sundays 4-6pm
Wednesdays 6-8pm

Saturdays 9-11am

Knit 102 sessions:
Fridays 9-11am

All knitting classes include Monday lunchtime open knitting each week from 12noon-2pm.

Toil & Trouble

We are very lucky to have Ana Campos from Toil & Trouble , a small yarn and knitwear company, come to us!

Join us for a Toil & Trouble trunk show on April 9th and 10th. Come in and see the beautiful yarns she’ll have for sale.

Ana will also host two classes with us! Classes with Ana will be held on Saturday, April 9th.

Toe-Up Sock Basics (10am-1pm)
Let go of your sock knitting fears and conquer toe-up socks! In this class, we will knit a mini sock where you learn how to do a magic cast on, shape toe increases, and turn a short row heel. You will leave class with the knowledge to then knit your own pair of full-sized socks, as well as a basic sock pattern.
Pre-requisites: Basic knitting skills, knitting in the round
Supplies: 1 ball of sport weight yarn, US4 double-pointed needles or US4 32″ circular needles for magic loop. Optional: 1 ball of fingering weight sock yarn and US1 needles to start your full-sized socks if time permits.
Sat 10am-12noon $50

Crochet Granny Squares (2-4pm)
Learn how to make traditional granny squares with a contemporary aesthetic! In this class, we will cover how to crochet three-color granny squares and how to join them. You can make a blanket of any size, or get creative and make pillow covers, bags, even jackets!
Pre-requisites: Basic crochet skills.
Supplies: 3 colors of worsted weight yarn, Size H hook. Sat 1-3pm $30

Sew 101


This introductory six-hour session will give you experience in the basics of sewing so you will have the knowledge and confidence to undertake projects on your own or in our Sew 102 classes. You will learn to understand, follow and cut out widely-available sewing patterns. All participants will work on the same pattern. Pattern and fabric are available for purchase at Stitch House.

Get to Know your
is a 2 hour workshop to familiarize yourself with either your personal sewing machine, or ours. We’ll introduce you to the machine, including turning it on, threading it, learning the basic stitches and functions, and caring for it. You will leave this session feeling good about your beginner skills, a handy packet of information to use at home and a starter project for your first sewing class with us. Even if you aren’t taking a sewing class with us, this is a great opportunity to learn a few basics. If you are bringing your own sewing machine- bring all the pieces and the manual (if you can find it!). If you don’t own a machine, come get to know our machines. This workshop also includes taking your measurements, picking appropriate patterns and how to select fabrics and notions. $30 for one session.

  1. I already know a lot, there aren’t any classes for me.. Teaching would more be what I’d be able to do. I know how to knit, crochet, sew – both sewing machine and serger.. and spin, I have drop spindles and a wheel. I have taught classes at Fibercamp.
