I know you’ve been wondering and asking about why you haven’t heard from me in so long. I appreciate the concern and that you miss this check-in. It has been a busy Summer for me and as much as I enjoy the sunny days, I am looking forward to getting back into my routine and for Fall. For us knitters and crafters, this is OUR season and I am so ready to embrace it!

Although I haven’t written, we have been busy working on our plans for the Fall. We have a number of special events this September and look forward to seeing you! Our basics are back too. Come in and learn to knit, crochet and sew. AND with Fall comes QUILTING! So many of you have asked and we have an incredible workshop starting THIS Saturday for YOU!

In family life, last week Doug and I took the kids on a fantastic vacation. We headed Montana’s Glacier National Park and then to Seattle. I know you like pictures so here’s one of my favorites. This was at Glacier at Grinnell Glacier Lake. A long 8 mile hike round trip for this stunning view. Yes… the kids and Doug went for a dip!e43621f3-274a-4c72-803d-d2920b1ec6d6.jpg

I hope you are well and that we see you this Friday night as we knit around the table!

September Quilting Workshop!

Using the “Quilt As You Go” technique, you will learn how to piece and quilt in small, manageable sections. By the end of the class, you will have a large quilt perfect for the couch. You will also gain enough confidence to tackle any size quilt at home. This technique can easily be used on any quilt pattern that can be broken into blocks or sections.

Instructor: Beth Stephens, Boston Modern Quilt Guild member & Etsy store owner (Beth La Boo). Sewing and crafting has been a part of Beth’s life since she was 3. She loves to pick out fabric and create quilts from her imagination. Her love and enthusiasm for quilting will surely inspire you!

Cost: $120 plus cost of materials (material and pre-class preparation list will be emailed).

Class Dates:
Sunday, September 18th, 4-8pm
Sunday, September 25th, 4-8pm
Sunday, October 9th, 4-8pm
plus open studio time to work on your craft!

Do you see these? The boys’ school is collecting them to raise funds for programing. Could you share yours with me? If you could collect and bring in as you come visit us, that would be helpful! Thank you.

Get to Know “GTK”
is a 2 hour workshop to familiarize yourself with either your personal sewing machine, or ours. We’ll introduce you to the machine, including turning it on, threading it, learning the basic stitches and functions, and caring for it. You will leave this session feeling good about your beginner skills, a handy packet of information to use at home and a starter project for your first sewing class with us. Even if you aren’t taking a sewing class with us, this is a great opportunity to learn a few basics. If you are bringing your own sewing machine- bring all the pieces and the manual (if you can find it!). If you don’t own a machine, come get to know our machines. This workshop also includes taking your measurements, picking appropriate patterns and how to select fabrics and notions.
$30 for one session.

Saturday, Sept 17 10-12noon
and Wednesday, Sept 21 6-8pm
