Happy New Year! Yesterday was my one-year anniversary of being sworn in as a City Councilor in Boston. It has been an incredible year and I am so proud of all my accomplishments, my office at City Hall and more importantly, of my Stitch House staff. Shelley, Valaree, Carrie, Diane, Claudia and Bill, as well as our instructors Moo, Kim, Jess, Melissa & Cassidy, have really made my life easier. They have taken great care of my shop and really made the mission of creating a shop for “us” a reality. Their love of this business and our Stitch House family is tremendous – and apparent to you I know. In this new year I hope to spend a little more time reconnecting with you because there are so many of you I don’t know.
For 2017 we are trying a few new things and with the turn of the calendar we are excited about some incredible opportunities.
First the good news/bad news. I made a difficult decision to change how we’re doing Friday Night Knitting. Starting this month we will do open, drop-in knitting onlyon the FIRST Friday. This will include the monthly birthday celebration – remember on your birthday month you get 20% off one purchase. Every other Friday of the month we’re offering a series of workshops and sessions. I am super exciting about what we have planning for the rest of January.
Friday January 6th Claudia hosting our monthly Birthday Party and Open Knitting Night “First Fridays!”
Friday January 13 Diane hosting a mini-dying workshop $35 includes materials.
Friday January 20th Diane hosting a felting session for $35
Friday January 27 Diane is teaching a Drop Spindle class for $35.
All but First Fridays will require pre-registration. Please call ahead to reserve your seat. We’re limiting space to create a more intimate group to learn and explore new skills.
Additionally we have so much happening this Winter. We have yarn tastings, new classes and the return of oldies but goodies!
Please read through this email for the all that’s happening and join us for our monthly First Friday Birthday celebration & open knitting.
|Is this your birthday month?!
When it is your Birthday Month, make sure you let us know and claim 20% off one whole purchase. Class & workshops excluded. You should also plan on joining us the first Friday of every month for opening knitting and cake!
|Get to Know “GTK”
Extended Sessions!is a 2 1/2 hour workshop to familiarize yourself with either your personal sewing machine, or ours. We’ll introduce you to the machine, including turning it on, threading it, learning the basic stitches and functions, and caring for it. You will leave this session feeling good about your beginner skills, a handy packet of information to use at home and a starter project for your first sewing class with us. Even if you aren’t taking a sewing class with us, this is a great opportunity to learn a few basics. If you are bringing your own sewing machine- bring all the pieces and the manual (if you can find it!). If you don’t own a machine, come get to know our machines. This workshop also includes taking your measurements, picking appropriate patterns and how to select fabrics and notions.
